Go Back To Those Gold Soundz: Pavement Reunited?

Comments

[this is good]
I'd go see them. i never saw them live either, back in the day. I saw Stephen Malkmus last December and it was quite good.

I'd love to see these guys reunite. It would help me make up for one of my all-time concert-going gaffes. I skipped out on the local show of their last tour just because I didn't feel like driving 25 minutes. They broke up about a month later. I've always regretted missing them.

The question on my mind is this: did you see the Pixies back in the day or on one of their overweight reunion tours? The reunion tours still count, but you go to the head of the indie rock class if you saw them the first time around.

I'll believe it when I see/hear it.

"Advertising looks and chops a must. No, BIG HAIR!"

Ha! I think you just distracted Dabysan from his deep meditation.

Don't worry, I'm in no hurry.
No, I'm not that cool. I'll have to stay at the back of the class. My parents didn't allow me to go downtown in the early 90s to where the clubs were. The Pixies broke up right around the time I could have seen them without fear of parental reprisal. I saw them on the reunion tour.
You're still a lot cooler than me; I never saw them at all. I saw Guided By Voices, though. Pollard threw unopened beer cans into the audience. He threw them overhand. The man's got an arm on him.
I've said all I have to say about my distaste for lousy fucking Pavement, so I'll just add this: A lot of people in this world have what can be best described as very hit-able faces, so it is a mark of some distinction that Stephen Malkamus is very near the top of that worldwide list, just above George Will and just below Tucker Carlson.
I'll agree with you there. I've got a whole post brewing about how Malkmus reminds me/looks like someone I went on two dates with and was a total tool. I've no doubt he's a smarmy bastard.
