Barack Obama Just Made You A Mix

On the average I'd say that post is correct. I would bet a good sum of money that every show I have been to at The Black Cat or 9:30 Club, the political views of the audience members are fairly homogenized. Which makes me a spurious data point!

That's why I keep my limited government, free market, pragmatic views to myself on show night. If Ted Leo knew what I was really thinking...he might ask me to stop buying his albums.
I was asked at last Tuesday's Wilco show if I was "an Obama man." I don't know why we had to high-five when I answered in the affirmative.

People wonder why I've disowned my Ohio upbringing. It's things like yesterday. Ohio ruins it for the rest of us. I'm so very thrilled to be on my way there in three hours....
Zanesville, dude. Zanesville.
Yeah, and you might be able to blame Athens too. Ted Strickland and Hills were always coming to campus when I was there. I have a distinct memory of Arrested Development (the band, not the cast of that fantastic show) coming to warm up the crowd for a Clinton rally in 96. They played that god awful Mr. Wendell song. I have a picture of myself at that rally. Half of the female student population was wearing overalls. Nobody plucked their eyebrows. It was quintessential 90s...

I was at that rally too! And Hillary was my graduation speaker. I saw her twice in Athens in two years. I like her alright; I just don't think I want her to be our nominee.

And don't forget all the plaid flannels. It was the heyday of Seattle grunge after all.

I have to admit, I'd like to see GOB warming up the crowd at a political rally. "COME ON!!"
[this is good]
"I've made a huge mistake."
Ohio ruins everything. They can eat a cock. Who asked them to be in the Union anyway?
